Artist Bio
Catherine comes from a multi-generational artist family in Texas and her family art adorns her home and studio, providing a constant source of inspiration. She signs her art with her maiden name, "Richter," to honor her family's artistic heritage.
Using collage papers, digital images, inks, and paints, Catherine creates beautiful mixed media shapes and designs that flow organically from her faith. Her style ranges from impressionistic to expressionistic, with colors varying from vibrant to neutral. Her portfolio features landscapes of the Southwest and Texas, seascapes, and scenes from old Mexico. She also enjoys creating Asian-inspired and abstract work, along with pieces featuring spiritual iconography.
Beginning with a BA degree in art from Trinity University, Catherine’s art education has continued over the last 50 years with classes and workshops led by artists such as Stephen Quiller, Arthur Turner, Bob Rohm, and Gerald Brommer.
